STAND WITH IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES LIVING IN THE USA

YWAM Montana — Lakeside, Montana

Welcome the Stranger.

At the heart of our mission is an unwavering support for the immigrants and refugees within our community. Our ESL program welcomes and serves over 100 language students living in the Kalispell area, including many who have fled violence and insecurity in Ukraine, Syria, and Latin America. Collaborating closely with our partners at Valley Neighbors and Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC), we offer in-person English classes tailored to the diverse needs of adults and families. This includes Beginner and Advanced classes, Citizenship and Workplace classes, Family Literacy classes, movie nights, local hikes, and more. But our commitment doesn't end there.

Dive deeper into the world of ESL education by enrolling in our TESOL certificate course, running from April 1 - June 21, 2024 at YWAM Montana. This comprehensive program, enriched with practical learning experiences, promises to equip you with the skills and resources needed to make a meaningful difference in your own community. Discover the unique training experiences awaiting you in Montana, where you can immerse yourself in meaningful coursework and community engagement at the same time. Whether you choose to join us on-campus or online, your involvement is a beacon of hope to those we serve.

Train. Serve. Go.

At YWAM Montana, we are looking for anyone who feels called to teach English as a ministry to join our community of passionate teachers-in-training. TESOL is a course that will give you the practical skills needed to become a language teacher in any country on the mission field. It is backed by an internationally recognized certification that can open many doors of opportunity, both in limited-access nations overseas and among the multicultural neighbors near your front door.

In partnership with Citizens TESOL, our new “hybrid” and “online” course formats are designed to quickly and effectively train any English speaker as a fully certified English teacher.

Located only 1 hour from Glacier National Park, a short drive from Kalispell, Bigfork, and Whitefish, and a leisure 10-minute walk to Flathead Lake, YWAM Montana offers a spectacular location to be trained and to train others. Come join us!

DID YOU KNOW:
Montana is a paradise for stargazing.

With its northern location, clear and clean air, and relative lack of light pollution, the stars shine bright across the state of Montana. And, if you keep your eyes peeled, you might be able to spot a rare phenomena that you can't observe everywhere — like the Northern lights and the Milky Way.

“I loved my students! Their willingness to continue to learn and grow was inspiring.”

A TEACHER’S STORY

After my TESOL course at YWAM Montana, I taught English in a refugee camp with Middle East Refugee Relief. I loved my students, and seeing their willingness to continue to learn and grow after the horrors and hardships they had been through was inspiring. It was a privilege to help them in any way I could along that journey and TESOL gave me the tools to do so.
